Development Methodology

DEVELOPERS

“Small releases, managed risk.”

How we build is as deliberate as what we build. Strawbay’s delivery process is engineered for stable financial flows: every change is tested and reviewed automatically, and releases to production are made on purpose, never on autopilot.

How we build

Every change is tested and reviewed

Mandatory

Built-in tests

Tests are mandatory and run automatically in CI/CD on every change. Nothing moves forward without them.

Automated

Automated build tests

Each build is verified automatically, so regressions are caught before anyone reviews the change.

Required

Required review

Every change is peer-reviewed. Approval is a requirement to proceed, not a formality.

AI-assisted

LLM review in the pipeline

An LLM review runs as part of the pipeline, an extra automated reviewer alongside the human one.

Security is designed in from the start, and an automated vulnerability assessment runs before updates are deployed, with findings prioritised by severity.

Small releases, managed risk

Small changes, contained risk

Risk scales with how much changes at once, so we keep releases small and frequent. Every small change passes the same gates, which keeps quality high as the pace goes up and keeps risk managed continuously, instead of deferred to a big, risky release.

Contained

Small blast radius

When a change is small, anything that goes wrong is obvious and isolated, not buried in a hundred other changes.

Early

Fast feedback

Issues surface early, while they are small and cheap to fix, rather than in a big-bang release.

Reversible

Easy rollback

Reverting one small change and restoring the last good state is trivial, backed by hourly backups.

Change management

Changes are classified and controlled

Every change is classified as major, minor or emergency and handled accordingly, peer-reviewed, and released only by an authorised Super Admin with backup and rollback ready. The process is documented, so how a change reaches production is never improvised.

How we release

Production deploys are deliberate

Passing the pipeline does not push code to production by itself. The deploy to production is a manual, authorised step, with backup and rollback ready. We optimise for stability, not for shipping to production on autopilot.

The result: complex integrations delivered fast, and financial flows that hold at any volume.
